Pocket Full Of Sunshine

Anything Goes this week for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Anything? Yes, Anything! We want to see your creations! This week, I played with the Crafty Cutts Slider Box Die and created an imaginary world where the weather is always wacky.  Although lately, that could be just about anywhere!
All of the papers and embellishments came from the Hero Arts Fresh Cut line. loved adding the weather tidbits and transparencies in the tiny space. It's little enough to be tucked in a pocket. Yes, a Pocket Full of Sunshine.
[Chorus]
Take me away (take me away)
A secret place (a secret place)
A sweet escape (a sweet escape)
Take me away (take me away)
Take me away (take me away
To better days (to better days)
Take me away (take me away)
A hiding place (a hiding place)

Now that I've got that song stuck in your head, I want to see what you've been creating.  Link your project to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge  blog for the Anything Goes challenge this week and you could win a $50 voucher to Simon Says Stamp.  We give away one each week to a random participant. We also choose a few outstanding pieces to be featured in our designer spotlight.

Transparent

This week we are challenging you to a Transparent theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge. Vellum, Overlays, Films, Frost, Clear embossing...the possibilities are endless!
For this theme, I chose to create a pocket card. I raided my Doo-Dad and What-Not basket of treasured little snippets.  Most came from Glitz, BasicGrey or Crate Paper and are wonderful for creating layers.
I found a fun piece labeled "transparency" from the Pier collection. I layered a clear overlay from the Persimmon collection. I then used a Bird stamp from Hero Arts to perch upon the layers.  I colored the stamped image with my distress markers.
The background of my card is the backside of a vintage postcard.  I love using vintage ephemera!  This particular postcard has an upside-down postage stamp in the corner. Did you know that when a stamp is upside down, it means "I love you"? However, an upside down flag stamp means a nation in distress. Those were commonly seen on correspondence from the WW2 era .

My kraft card is also a pocket! I used the envelopes found at Simon Says Stamp and simply cut the top off.  How fun!  I'll use the top for another project. Now I can stuff photos and memorabilia in my card to send to family and friends.

Show us your Transparent project and link it to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp.  Your project could also be chosen to be featured in our designer spotlight.

I've been sick with the flu for almost a week now. :(  Sadly, I haven't been able to visit blogs. So if you haven't heard from me, that's why. Hopefully, I'll be able to resume soon. I've missed seeing all of your wonderful inspiration!

Get Lucky

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
This week we have all of the "Luck" for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Feeling Lucky?  Down on your luck? Personally, I'm in need of a little luck, so I created my own!

I die cut several miniature shamrocks to put in the corked vials.  A little paint on them gives them more dimension and character.  A wee bit of glitter was added to the vial as well. This is a super-easy project that was a lot of fun. If you're interested in constructing these yourselves, I recommend adding a touch of Diamond Glaze clear adhesive to the cork before adhering it to the bottle. It dries crystal clear and prevents wearing your luck all down the front of your shirt. :)
I used memo pins stuck in the cork. The pins were initially too long, but I solved that problem by snipping the ends with Tonic scissors. Small beads from my craft stash were added with a jump ring.  The tiniest vial isn't meant to be worn, it's meant to be kept tucked in a pocket, so it didn't need a necklace. I love the Tim Holtz Apothecary stamp set that I've used here. This set has the fabulous labels that I've used many times and it also has a wonderful script stamp. While I was creating I made the most remarkable discovery....

Feeling Lucky?  Link your project to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and you could win a $50 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp.  A new winner is randomly picked each week.  It could be you! Your project could also be chosen to be featured in our Designer Spotlight.  Good Luck!
