Wee little bag

Do you know what I love about the holidays?  It is socially acceptable to use as much sparkle and shine as humanly possible.  Do you know what I dislike?  Paying outrageous amounts of money for cute gift wrap when I have a ton of fabulous paper in my craft room. There's a fun sketch at the Unscripted Sketches blog this week and that's what I used as a starting point for my Wee Work gift bag.  I was inspired by my talented stamping friend, Kimberly.  She does something that I have a hard time with.  She incorporates the sentiment in to the design.  That sounds easy, but it's often not.   I tend to add my sentiment as an after-thought and the design suffers, so I tried to keep the sentiment a prominent element here.
I used the We R Memory keepers gift bag punch board for this. I do believe that I can make enough bags over the years to justify the cost, but I wish it was a bit easier to use.  I had to make 4 or 5 bags before I felt comfortable using it.   It creates the perfect size for pretty earrings or a necklace, or a cute bracelet, or fun socks, or inkpads, or....I'd love to tell you what's in the bag, but it's a gift for my daughter.  Shhhhh....don't tell!

Holiday Countdown

The Holiday Countdown has begun!  The team at The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog wants to know how you countdown the days.
My favorite part of the Holiday season is the day that my grown children are all home together.  I created these little stamped and numbered houses to help countdown the days.  It wasn't a difficult project.  All of the papers came from the new My Mind's Eye Heirloom collection.  This paper is actually designed as a Valentines Day collection.  I LOVE it when my paper's can do double-duty and can be used for more than one project.
The little bases are made from using the Martha Stewart Crafter's Clay.  This lightweight clay is as easy as using Play-doh and it air dries overnight.  Don't make the bases too small.  Since it's lightweight, if they're made too small, they'll easily fall over.  Mine are a tad larger than a sugar cube.

Need some more inspiration?  Check out the projects that other design team members have created at The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  Don't forget to link up your project for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.  Your project could be featured in our designer spotlight.  Happy Stamping!

Autumn Country...100 Proof Press Style

100 Proof Press shared this card that I made on their Facebook page today.

I was happy that Sara liked what I did with her 6 Block, Roses stamp.  I love this image and knew that I would have fun playing with it.  After stamping it on kraft paper, I colored it with three colors of pastel pencils.  Only three! Why only three?  Because the image is so pretty without ANY embellishment.

The Mysterious Case of the Most Glamorous Glitter

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=719

Love a good mystery?  Me too!  Almost as much as I love glitter!
Glass Glitter? Distress Glitter? Fine Glitter? Which is best? And how do I use it? After much sleuthing, I have drawn some interesting conclusions in the case of the Most Glamorous Glitter.
Find out what my deductions have revealed by visiting today's post on The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

Don't forget! There's still time to link your "Mystery" projects to the current challenge here.  You could be the latest weekly winner to receive a $50 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp.  AND...
Your project could also be featured in our designer spotlight!

P.S.  Aren't those little girls in the photo sweet?  That's my Mother and my Aunts. The photo was taken about sixty-years ago.  Today, they are just as darling. <3

All that Glitters Is Not Gold...

This week the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge is a Mystery!

Everyone loves a good mystery. From Sherlock Holmes and Nancy Drew to techniques that are hard to figure out. Or perhaps your project idea mysteriously came to you one day.  However you choose to interpret the theme, we can’t wait to see your creations!

Be sure to check out the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge tutorial later this week, where I will explore various glitters and take the Mystery out of choosing the right one.  I'll also share a quick tip for adding a little extra sparkle to any project. I love my glitters!

As always, we are eager to see your creations too!  Link up your "Mystery" project for an opportunity to win a $50 gift voucher to the Simon Says Stamp online store.  Your project could also be chosen as one of our weekly featured spotlight designs.
It's no mystery where I shop!

Owl always be there...

I do not have a Wee Work today.  I got sidetracked on Pinterest.  I saw some amazing things there that people have created and completely lost track of time.  It was fun as well as inspiring and I developed a few Craft-Crushes on people who have done brilliant things with paper.  So today, I will debut a card that I created a few weeks ago for a challenge.  It didn't meet the challenge criteria, so here it is:
I used a wood veneer piece from the Basicgrey Persimmon line.  Underneath the scalloped oval it says, "Happy Fall" or something to that effect.  Yeah....I just covered it up with that BA stamped Owl.  Doesn't she look intense?
Have a great week.  I'm going to go and create something while I am still on my Pinterest high.
By the way, if you use Pinterest, I can be found here.

Inky Envies

Got Ink?
That's the theme this week for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.  INK...It's so fun to see how people use their favorite inks.  There are so many wonderful inks available.

These gift cards envies will be nice to have around when I want to say, “Thank You!”  The sweetly scalloped Melissa Frances Paper Bags and Tags are a timesaver, since they are pre-made and ready to embellish.  Did you know that you can paint with Distress Inks? I decorated my bags with a fun and funky watercolor band.

Creating a watercolor background was so much fun.  Brush on a bit of color.  Let it dry.  And add some more.  It's that simple.  To finish off my Inky Envies, I added some vintage ephemera and wrapped a bit of twine garland.
Show us your project with ink at the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge and you could win a $50 gift voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.  Your project could also be featured as one of our weekly designer spotlights.
