What We Could Be

Happy Memorial Day! Today I'd like to share a card that I made using this week's sketch at Unscripted Sketches.  I rotated the sketch as you can see here:
The sentiment is an older stamp from Stampers Anonymous.  I am also linking this to The Simon Says Stamp and Show "Into the Woods" Challenge.  I love woodgrain papers and this one by Crate Paper is my favorite. :)

Pretty Birdie

The Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Target was gorgeous this week.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to play along.  It inspired me to create this card in greys and yellows.

The stamps are from Artistic Outpost.  I used my pastel pencils for a light wash of color.  And I brushed the cardfront with diamond glitter to give it a sheen that doesn't photograph very well, but trust me, it's there. :)

This is the current inspiration trigger.
Gorgeous, isn't it?  I'm also linking my card to the Artistic Outpost Monthly Referral Program.  Each month they randomly give away stamps to one lucky stamper who plays along.  Cool, huh?

EDITED:
After I finished my post, I sat at my desk and played around with the stamps and papers scattered around and I created this card too.  Same bird.  Different look.

Paint Day!

Take a peek at The Rubber Café blog.  Today it's my turn to post a project, and I chose to play with paint. :)

Grey Fusion Pt. Deux

I didn't think that I would have time to play with the Fusion card challenge this week, but I squeezed in some time this evening.  YAY!  I really liked the inspiration photo, so I chose to use that as my influence. I tried to keep the card simple, yet still add the prominent elements.  Clean and simple is difficult for me. (blush)  So this card really was a challenge!  It is not one of my favorites, but it was fun.

This is the challenge this week.

All of the stamping was done with Hero Arts Soft Granite Ink (I LOVE that color!  It took me years to find a nice, rich grey.)  So I am also linking this to the Simon Says Stamp and Show Favorite Ink Challenge . All of the rubber stamps used here are from The Rubber Café

Sew Cute!

I used the Needle Little Love set from Paper Smooches for their current Designer Drafts sketch challenge this week.

I am also linking this to the Simon Says Stamp and Show "A Little Paper" Challenge.  I used a 6x6 pad of the new Crate Paper, "The Pier" papers.  I think it's my new favorite line!  I have really been enjoying sketch challenges lately.  Thanks for letting me share them with you!

I've got a Mild Fascination for Collectors

This song has been in my head for days!!  It makes me happy.  I want to be that girl that dances in gold sparkly flats!

And then as I was going through my rubber stamps it dawned me....."OMG....*I'm* a collector!"   :)

Watercolor Inspiration

Today is Mother's Day!  I had to go to work for awhile today, but I still found time to play. I was inspired by a gorgeous stamped scene that Shari Carroll made with these Claudine Hellmuth stamps.  I first saw it about a year ago. She did an entire street scene in watercolor. I only did a few elements, but I really enjoyed playing with different watercolor mediums.  I found that I like water coloring with the Ranger distress inks the best.  They're sooo easy to use. (note lesson #1:  Shari Carroll is much better with watercolor than I am!)

I am linking this to the Simon Says Stamp and Show "Inspired by" challenge.  Thanks for the inspiration Shari! I am also linking this to the Moxie Fab World "The Wonder of Watercolor Challenge".  As well as the Twisted Tuesday Free for All.

Pink Feathered Thoughts

I had so much fun playing along with Unscripted Sketches last week, that I decided to play this week too!  I am really enjoying those sketches! Don't adjust your screen settings, there really is THAT MUCH pink going on here.  I'm not really a "pink person", but....

There is a challenge going on at the Shopping Our Stash blog for a Mother's Day theme, or pink.  I chose pink!  And it all started with that feather.   The feather originated as a vintage pink silk floral leaf.  I've had it for ages, since there's not often an occasion for a pink leaf.  I trimmed the leaf down and added some cuts and voila!  The leaf turned into a feather!

Card Set

I am participating in the Moxie Fab World Card Set Challenge.  This was a lot of fun, and I'm sure I'll do another card set real soon. :)

The little card box was easily made with my scoreboard and I embellished the cards with gold foil trims, buttons, and some die-cut embellishments from K & Company.  The hardest part was photographing the set.

Fusion Delivery

I decided to play along with this week's Fusion Card Challenge again this week.  This is one of my LEAST favorite cards.  It was truly a challenge.  This week, I combined Jackie's sketch challenge with Leslie's photo challenge.

This is the challenge inspiration:

I painted some chipboard shapes (that's Heidi Swapp Gold Lame on the bird), used a few strips of Cosmo Cricket papers, some bits floating around in my scrap box and a few enamel dots.  I am also linking this to the Simon Says Stamp  "Happy Mail" Challenge.

Sunny Disposition

Hello!  My daughter is graduating from college this weekend (Go Wildcats!) and I am SOOOO excited!  I have a million things to do, but somehow I got sidetracked crafting.  How does that happen? LOL!  Oh well, I'm in a such a good mood,  I don't even care about the work right now.

I stumbled upon the Unscripted Sketches blog, and since I'd never seen them before, I had to give it a try.  Sketches are always so fun!  :)

I have had this Ali Edwards stamp set since last year and until today, it had never been inked.  I've been feeling a tad guilty about that, so I embossed it, and now it makes me feel happy!  I am going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp Happy Mail challenge, as well as the Use Your Stuff  Spring into Pastels challenge.  Pastel colors usually aren't my "thing", so this was a stretch for me.

Happy Stamping!

Happy-Little-Bird

I adore the birdcage from the Artistic Outpost Birds of a Feather plate.  I've used it many, many times and it's one of my favorite go-to stamps.  So when I saw the Mission Impossible challenge at 365 cards, I just grabbed my stamp and I had it done in less than 10 minutes.  Easy? oh yeah.

The background paper with the bird is one of those "freebies" that comes as a magazine insert.  It's been hiding out in my scrap box for a long, long time.
I am linking this to the monthly Artistic Outpost referral program. (I won one of these once and received the most AMAZING prize from them! They are very, very kind and generous!)  And I am also linking to the Simon Says Stamp "Happy Mail" challenge.
