color my life

I did it!  I completed a week's worth of challenges this week!  Today's challenge at 365 Cards was to create a card with splatters.  Getting inky is always fun, so I used the Paper Smooches I Heart Art stamp set with some re-inkers and ink spray on Maggie Holmes Paper.  This was a huge stretch for me.  So "THANK YOU!" for the inspiration.

I am also linking this to the current Simon Says Stamp Challenge. Now you'll have to excuse me while I clean up a week's worth of mess. ;)

Spring Color Combo

Yes, I've been posting a lot.  This week I told myself that I was going to do a week's worth of challenges.  A challenge each day.  I'm on day 6.  At 365 Cards there was a color combo challenge.

The pale blue doesn't show up very well, but it does look lovely with the green.  (I added the yellow.  Hope that's okay.)  The chicky is a vintage image I've been hoarding.  I love using vintage items! :)

Celebrate!

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is to to use adhesive in a creative way - not just to stick two things together.  So....See that strip of glitter at the bottom?  That's double-sided tape.  I used it as an embellishment!

I combined todays challenge with the Seize the Birthday sketch and challenge to create a masculine birthday card.  Don't let the glitter fool you into thinking that it's only for girls.  I had the perfect shade of orange to go with these Echo Park "Brothers" Papers.  The "celebrate you" sentiment is from a really old Stampin' Up set.

Country Outpost

For day four in my week's worth of challenges, I took the challenge "Word Wednesday" at 365 Cards.  The word was "Country".

This card was created using The Outpost stamp set from Artistic Outpost and Ranger Distress Inks.  I am also linking this to the Artistic Outpost March Referral Program.

Time's Up!

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is called "Time's Up!".  You must create a card in 20 minutes or less.  Here's what I came up with.  It took 14 minutes.

I learned a lot from this.  The things that took the longest were cutting out the butterfly, and waiting until the Gold Lame spray was dry enough to handle.  Thankfully I used the spray first, and stamped while it was drying.  (Truthfully, I don't know if it was Completely dry when I adhered it to the vellum envelope.) Another time saver was that I using stamps from a set.  I used the Vintage Treasures set from The Rubber Cafe.  The other embellishments were premade.  Easy-Peasy.  The biggest lesson here, was that I glued it down and didn't over-think it.  Grab it and Glue it.

A weeks worth of fun...

There's a blog that posts challenges every day.  I've always wanted to try this.  But maybe that's too much right now.  So, I will try a week's worth.  :)

Sunday's challenge at 365 Cards was a sketch challenge.  And there was a photo challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks challenge involving buttons.  I do love buttons!  I combined the two and this what I designed.   I used Paper Smooches Needle Little Love Stamps and Basic Grey's Lucille paper.

I really like that needle stamp. :)

I wonder what other challenges 365 Cards will offer this week. ??  Wish me luck!

Scrappy Card

I seldom create something with little or no stamping on it, but for this card I left the inks on the shelf.  I just got a big box of scrappy supplies that I had ordered, so I felt compelled to cut into it.  Here I used Glitz papers and Crate Paper papers.  I made the little flags and the bow came from the Maggie Holmes line.  Being that I am severely bow-challenged, these little cuties are my new favorites.

Retro Robin

I find it really hard to do a "Clean And Simple" type card.  So for me, this was a stretch. I created this card by using the #54 sketch from Retro Sketches. I used the DIY paper from Crate Paper and the bow is from the Maggie Holmes Crate Paper line.  The sweet little robin is from Artistic Outpost's Birds of a Feather plate. Artistic Outpost has a monthly referral program I am linking this card to.

Paper Feathers

Good Gravy!  This was FUN!
I made some paper feathers today.  And I'm really happy with how they turned out.  I used this background stamp from The Rubber Cafe, metalic paint, cardstock, twine and Glossy Accents.  Easy-Peasy.

I think that just about every paper crafter has seen the tutorial for paper feathers.  But if you missed it, you can find it here.  And if you need even MORE inspiration, you can check out my Feathers Board on Pinterest.

Introducing......ME!

If you go to The Rubber Cafe' blog, you can see my first post as a design team member!  I am pretty excited to be doing this.  Their stamps are pretty awesome.  Be sure to check it out! :)
